Retailers #1 Hurdle & #1 Fantasy

As a retailer, you wish that every day was magical; your stores
would have a continuous stream of shoppers, they would gush
over how great your store looks, and how amazing your staff is,
your sales associates would up sell every customer, and you would
hear the beautiful sound of the registers ringing. This fantasy is over
the top but below are a few strategies that will help you with your #1
hurdle; getting customers in your store and #1 fantasy; creating
shopper frenzy.

Getting Customers To Enter Your Store

It is fascinating to observe shoppers, what draws them into a
store? When they get inside, where do they gravitate too? What
makes them buy?  If I had all the answers I would be in great
demand, and really wealthy. In the meantime, I’m putting the pieces
together just like you. The most obvious hurdle a retailer has to over
come, is getting the shopper into your store. This past weekend I
could not help but notice the glaring retail trend of promoting sales.
Nearly every store I passed had windows dressed for success.
In-store messaging stating a sale or promotion is the #1 reason
shoppers purchases items not on their list. Consumers are budget
conscious inspire them to into your store with attractive window
dressing, and enticing sale or a promotion.

A very experienced retail professional, recently shared with me, a
retail truism. Women love thrill of the hunt! Women like digging
through the sale racks, and bins to find something they love at a great
price., as a female shopper, I can attest to this truth. When retailers
create the atmosphere to hunt down deals it creates a shopper frenzy.
Last weekend Macy's and Victoria Secrets did an amazing job driving
sales. Their in-store marketing was like a powerful magnet drawing
women in by the droves. Both retailers were experiencing magical
days, and I witnessed the bliss.

Yes You Can
What are you doing to getting more bodies in your store? How are
you creating shopper frenzy? Effective in-store marketing changes
consumer behavior and can help more of your retail days be magical.
