As a marketing person are you consciously shopping or just mindlessly running errands?
The next time you go shopping I encourage you to be conscious of your 5 senses. Ask yourself how does the smell of this store make me feel? Is the music overpowering or does it compliment the shopping experience? Does the layout of the store gently guide me to explore? Are the store displays inspiring and encourage me to reach out and pick up items? Is the signage communicate the right message? How did the employees engage with you?
I promise if you engage your 5 senses your experience will be a lot more fun and interesting. You will walk away with a completely different prospective of that Company.
Here is a recent example of one of my shopping experiences . . .
Yesterday I went to Pier One, as I wanted to pick up a few items for the home. When I entered the store
I was greeted by beautiful displays and vivid bursts of colors. The store seemed to flow from one perfectly staged look to another! The store was empty aside from the sales associate who kindly greeted me and said, "if you need any help let me know" Overall it was a great experience but if I had to be critical it was uncomfortably quiet in the store, their was no music which I found to be a bit awkward.
Have fun & enjoy your next shopping adventure!
When you shop, it's important to look at other avenues like the internet. As an employee of the Long Island marketing company, I have been trained on how to look at quality items over the internet.

ReplyDeleteSome seo services provider could manipulate search engine results when they successfully bring their campaign up on top of the rankings but this should not be your basis for choosing products online. Like what Andieclark said, you must really check out the quality of the website and their products. It does require your senses to decide carefully.
